Philosophical seminar

Philosophical seminar is the first academic seminar in English at Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow. This seminar is intended mainly for doctoral students, but it is open also for 2nd level courses students capable to learn in English.

There are two main branches of research:
#Philosophy of computing
#History of philosophy of science in Krakow

Discussions in winter semester 2018/2019 will be focused on the following topics:

  1. Robot Friedship: Can a Robot be a Friend? Discussion around Claus Emmeche paper (due to call for papers in "Mind&Machines")
  2. How to became a good philosopher and historian of philosophy? Presentation and discussion of rules for history of philosophy
  3. Philosophy in Lwow-Warsaw school (additional topic suggested by participants)

Each student must prepare a review of a philosophical book and one presentation connected with his/her research.
